Hundreds of freshmen take the stage at ACU for Freshman Follies 2006

More than 800 freshmen will take the stage Sept. 29-30 for the 29th annual Freshman Follies musical variety show. Follies will showcase a variety of freshman talents packaged within a theme where they try to figure out “What’s Next.”

Show times include Friday, Sept. 29, at 7 and 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 30, at 1, 3 and 7 p.m. All tickets are general admission at $9 each. Tickets are now available online at www.freshmanfollies.com. Tickets also are on sale at the ticket window in ACU’s McGlothlin Campus Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The show will include musical and talent numbers featuring solos, duets and small ensembles while large choruses and groups from residence halls perform as large ensembles. The numbers can be fun, tongue-in-cheek, insightful and, most of all, entertaining, said Kendall Massey, Freshman Follies director.

“Freshman Follies is a musical variety show performed entirely by ACU freshmen. It’s a great way for freshmen to meet new people, build an amazing show together and have a blast on stage,” Massey said. “Their energy and excitement captivates the audience. It makes a unique show and a great evening of entertainment.”

What’s Next will keep an eye to the future as Follies nears its 30th anniversary and ACU starts its 101st year. “This show is about looking to the future through the eyes of ACU freshmen,” Massey said. “And when they show you what’s next, it can be very exciting and entertaining.
