Dan Garrett receives AEP certification

    Dan Garrett has been certified as an accredited estate planner by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. The North Texas Chapter of the National Association of Estate Planning Council nominated Garrett for this certification.
    Garrett has served as president of The ACU Foundation and vice chancellor of the university since 1995. He is a member of the board of directors of the American Council on Gift Annuities, the North Texas National Committee on Planned Giving, and numerous local and regional boards. Garrett is a sought-after lecturer and consultant on matters of estate planning, planned giving and stewardship.
    The accredited estate planner (AEP) designation is a graduate level specialization in estate planning designation, obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning. The AEP designation is available to attorneys, Chartered Life Underwriters, Certified Public Accountants, Certified Financial Planners™, Chartered Financial Consultants and Certified Trust and Financial Advisors.
    The National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC) awards the designation to recognize estate-planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education, professional reputation and character. An AEP must embrace the team concept of estate planning and adhere to the NAEPC professional code of ethics.
    NAEPC is a national organization of professional estate planners and affiliated Estate Planning Councils focused on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards. It fosters public awareness of the quality services rendered by professionals who meet these standards. NAEPC builds a team approach involving cross-professional disciplines to better serve the public's need in estate planning.
