Abilene Christian University's College of Business Administration is offering a one-day conference to better equip business professionals who are entering the most dynamic, challenging and demanding years of their professional lives.
The Emerging Leaders Conference, part of COBA’s Leadership Development Series, will be Friday, Feb. 24, at INFOMART, 1950 Stemmons Frwy., in Dallas.
The goals of the conference are two-fold. First, to provide a vision of God’s call to leadership and influence, and second, to better equip participants with the tools necessary to live with distinction in the global world.
The conference is designed for professionals aspiring to higher leadership positions in organizations, businesses, homes, communities and churches.
The day's events will emphasize practical leadership principles and techniques through small group sessions, networking opportunities and two keynote speakers, David Sampson and Carlos Sepulveda.
David Sampson, deputy secretary of the U.S. Commerce Department, was nominated by George W. Bush April 1 and appointed by the Senate July 22. He is a graduate of David Lipscomb University and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary; he also earned a doctoral degree from ACU.
Carlos Sepulveda, CEO of Interstate Battery System of America, Inc., was named CEO after 13 years with Interstate Batteries. The company has international operations based in Dallas and is a privately-held, $650 million corporation.
Continuing education units are available through ACU for conference participants. Arrangements for CEU credit should be made when registering.
Participants can register through Feb. 20, but registration fees will vary. Early registration for $195 continues through Jan. 31. After that through Feb. 20, the registration fee will be $250.
