Alumni artists to perform in Guest Artist Series

Outstanding graduates of Abilene Christian University’s music department will be featured in the 2005-2006 Guest Artist Series Alumni Artists Concert. The performance is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. in the Williams Performing Arts Center Recital Hall and is free and open to the public.

Alumni artists include tenor Jamie Dahman, pianist Cheryl Lemmons, percussionist Kenyon Williams, tenor Eric Schmidt, pianist Charles Rix and pianist Pauline Kung Bjorem.

The artists represent the past three decades of the Department of Music at ACU and include alumni who are actively pursuing graduate studies or are currently on the music faculty at universities throughout the country.

The concert will feature piano music by Clementi and Liszt, art songs by Ernst Chausson, arias by Bellini and Puccini and a marimba concerto by American composer David Gillingham.

ACU’s Guest Artist Series will feature other artists including:
  • Unison piano duo, Du Huang and Xiao Hu, Jan. 26
  • So Percussion Ensemble, Feb. 24
All performances are free and will be held in the Williams Performing Arts Center Recital Hall at 8 p.m
