Oct. 31, 2005

Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer David Leeson will give a presentation on digital media and photography at Abilene Christian University Sat., Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.  The presentation will be in Cullen Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
Leeson, senior photographer for the Dallas Morning News and ACU graduate of 1978, will discuss the opportunities created by digital photography, considered the most dynamic change in visual arts in more that 100 years.  His presentation will explore digital video and non-linear editing in the world of photojournalism and demonstrate its use from coverage of world news such as the war in Iraq and Hurricane Katrina.
"The presentation will appeal to any audience because of the immediacy of events such as the war in Iraq and Hurricane Katrina," said Gary Tucker, Director of instructional development and faculty development for the Adams Center for Teaching Excellence. "Anyone involved in photography and media communication will benefit from Leeson’s presentation and experience."
