Carnival, JamFest to provide fun for all ages

October 6, 2005

Fun, games, food and music will be at Abilene Christian University's annual Homecoming Carnival and JamFest on Friday, Oct. 14 from 5-8 p.m. The carnival will be in the central mall area of campus and JamFest will be behind Zona Luce.

"There will be something for everybody," said Jama Cadle, coordinator of alumni events.

The carnival is free of charge and includes inflatable attractions, clowns, cheerleaders and Willie the Wildcat, who will be available to take pictures with children.

Food items will also be on sale including turkey legs, nachos, corn dogs, pretzels, sausage on a stick and purple cotton candy. An all-you-can-eat buffet in the World Famous Bean will also be available for $6 for adults and $4 for children.

JamFest will feature seven student acts and two alumni artists. The student acts are Joie de Vivre, Indiana’s Bad Day, Streets of Simon Lee, Takisha Knight, Clad in Scarlet, A Something Hypothesis, and Homer Hiccolm and the Rocketboys. Alumni artists Zane Williams ('99) and TJ McCloud ('03) will be the last two acts to perform this year. JamFest t-shirts will be on sale for $5 starting Monday and at the event.

In addition, the All-School Reunion will be on campus at the same time beginning at 7 p.m. Tents for each decade will be set up in various locations around campus.  The All-School Reunion is designed to provide a place for people from each decade to meet and visit.
