The artwork of Abilene Christian University alumni, faculty and friends will be on display at The Grace Museum Sept. 24 through Dec. 31 during the ACU Centennial Art Exhibition. More than 30 artists from around the country are participating.
The show will open to the public September 24 at 6:30 p.m. with a reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibit. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert and beverages will be served, and a steel drum band and jazz ensemble will perform throughout the evening.
The exhibit showcases a wide variety of art including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, photography, interior design, Web design and graphic design. ACU artists were invited by Dr. Royce Money, president of ACU, to submit artwork. The art was then considered by a jury of members with art expertise.
Bob Nutt, ACU alumnus and member of The Grace Museum Board of Trustees, is serving as curator for the exhibit.
“This is a great opportunity for the Abilene community to see the artistic talent associated with ACU,” Nutt said. “The quality and diversity of artwork is going to make an impressive show.”
