COBA hosts fundraiser in Dallas

Sept. 19, 2005

Abilene Christian University alumni raised more than $4,000 for the College of Business Administration and for Texoma Youth camp at the Shoot for Success fundraiser in Dallas Aug. 27.

The fundraiser took place at the Elm Fork Shooting Park in Dallas, and the $4,000 raised from sponsors and participants was divided between COBA and Texoma Youth Camp.

"Shoot for Success" was organized by ACU alumni in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  Bill Minick III, ACU class of 1982, is a board member for the Texoma Youth Camp and an attorney for PartnerSource, Inc. Minick served as the event organizer and chair.  His goal was to raise awareness and support of both ACU and TYC through shooting tournaments and contests.

The event brought 40 ACU alumni together to participate in shooting tournaments and station contests, where prizes were given for broken targets.  The top prize was a brand new Remington Model 1100 12ga. Shotgun.
