Gary McCaleb to headline event

For immediate release
July 20, 2005

Dr. Gary McCaleb, vice president of Abilene Christian University and former Abilene mayor, will be the featured speaker at a training session for new city leaders to take place on the ACU campus July 22-23.

The training workshops are sponsored by the Texas Municipal League and Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners. They are designed for first-time elected officials throughout the state and are generally held at three different locations on three different dates in late summer. This year the Center for Building Community at ACU was selected as the location for one of the three sessions.

Although this is the first time for Abilene and ACU to serve as host for the event, McCaleb is no stranger to headlining the sessions. He has been the keynote speaker for the past several years and will headline the other two training sessions this year in Sugar Land and Irving.

McCaleb will speak on Friday, July 22 at 8:30 a.m. in ACU's Mabee Business Building, Room 201.
