Annual Shakespeare Festival brings Twelfth Night, Julius Caesar to stage

The 2005 Abilene Shakespeare Festival presents Twelfth Night and Julius Caesar July 7-16.  Both productions are hosted by Abilene Christian University at the Williams Performing Arts Center. 

Twelfth Night, directed by Gary Varner and performed in the Fulks Theatre, will run July 7, 9 and 15, and Julius Caesar, directed by Mike Fernandez and performed in the Culp Theatre, will run July 8, 10, 14 and 16.  Both productions begin at 7:30 p.m.  The audience will have the opportunity to talk with the actors, directors and designers following the performances on July 8 for Julius Caesar and on July 9 for Twelfth Night.

Support from the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council and the ACU Department of Theatre will allow the performances to be free to the public.  Patrons may secure free 'reservation tickets' starting June 27 from the ACU Box Office.  These tickets will allow guests to enter the theater early.  Guests with reservation tickets may enter the theater anytime from 15 minutes to an hour prior to the performance.  Those without reservation tickets will be allowed in after that time.  Those with reservation tickets who do not arrive during the designated time will not be seated if the house is full.
