ACU class of 1955 to celebrate Golden Anniversary Reunion

For immediate release
April 4, 2005

The Abilene Christian University class of 1955 will be celebrating its 50-year reunion Thursday and Friday April 7-8 with activities on campus and throughout Abilene.  The two-day reunion will include luncheons, a dinner, chapel services, a campus tour, class pictures and a class video at the Paramount Theatre.

Festivities will kick-off with registration and a welcome reception followed a chapel assembly at 10:50 a.m. that will be led by members of the class of '55 and is open to current students and faculty.

"This is one of my favorite events throughout the entire year," Jama Cadle, Alumni Events Coordinator said.  "The Golden Anniversary classes bring back so much history and it is great to see them talk with current students and share their experiences and memories of ACU."

Following the chapel assembly, participants will attend the Golden Anniversary Luncheon and may choose from a campus tour, faculty memorial service or volunteering to give oral histories of their memories of ACU to the Centennial Collection Task Force to add to the 1950s university archives. A class dinner will be held Thursday evening followed by the class video at the Paramount Theatre.

On Friday, the group will take a class picture and attend a Purple & White Luncheon.  The ACU Alumni Relations Office is compiling a memory book with updated pictures and information on all of the class members.  For more information, please contact Jama Cadle in the Alumni Relations Office at 800-373-4220 or 325-674-2622 or e-mail
