New residence hall underway at ACU

For immediate release
February 18, 2005

Construction is underway on Abilene Christian University's newest home for students. A.B. Barret Hall, named after the university's founder and first president, will open in August of 2005, coinciding with the start of ACU's Centennial year.

The hall will house up to 172 students with an innovative design composed of 11 eight-bedroom suites that feature two living areas each. Each bedroom houses two students and has its own bathroom.

The lobby area will include a coffee shop and a study room, and the facility will also have a laundry room, office and residence director's apartment.

Architect for the project is Tittle Luther Partnership, and the new building is located on the west side of campus, on Campus Court Drive, across from the Brown Library and Mabee Hall.
