ACU alumnus Craig Smith to head Fort Worth Christian School

Abilene Christian University alumnus Craig Smith ('84) was named president of Fort Worth Christian School effective Feb. 14.  Smith currently serves as president of World Bible Translation Center.

The World Bible Translation Center has completed 31 New Testament translations and 13 Bibles, distributing more than six million copies of the Bible annually, which is brought to more than four billion people in various languages across the globe. 

Prior to joining the World Bible Translation Center, Smith was an account executive at Zachry Associates in Abilene and managing editor of ACU's Alumni magazine.

Smith received the 2004 Gutenberg Award from the ACU journalism and mass communications department for his career achievements and was selected as a United Way "Community Hero" torchbearer for the 1996 Olympic Games. 

Craig and his wife, Jan (Smith, '84) are both ACU graduates. During his time here, he was on the dean’s list and received a track scholarship.

Craig and Jan have two sons, Zachary and Blaine, and a daughter, Maci.  They are members of the Richland Hills Church of Christ in Fort. Worth.
