The National Republican Congressional Committee selected Dr. Guy M. Lewis, a 1980 graduate of Abilene Christian and a member of ACU's Board of Trustees, as a 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal Award winner.

According to a press release by the NRCC, Lewis was selected based on "unyielding support of the Republican Party, outstanding leadership in business and for displaying a commitment to President Ronald Reagan's vision for an entrepreneurial America."

Congressman Tom Reynolds, chairman of the NRCC, said, "Dr. Lewis has served as an honorary chairman of the Business Advisory Council and has provided much needed support. This award could not have gone to a more deserving candidate."

Lewis is a cosmetic dentist in the Houston area. After receiving his bachelor's degree from ACU, he earned a dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1984. He was the youngest founding member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the premier organization for dentists dedicated to the art of cosmetic dentistry, and he remains actively involved today. Lewis is also an adjunct professor at Baylor College of Dentistry.
