Jan. 3, 2004
Randall Whitehead, an international authority on lighting design, will speak to Abilene Christian University students and the Abilene community Jan. 25 in ACU's Cullen Auditorium at 7 p.m. as a guest of the interior design program and the Department of Art and Design.
The one-hour presentation, "Lighting Design Trends for Commercial Spaces," will qualify as a continuing education unit for architects, interior designers and lighting designers. Students and professionals in the disciplines of art, architecture or interior design are especially encouraged to attend.
"Our goal is to provide experienced voices beyond the classroom for our students,” said Kitty Wasemiller, professor of interior design at ACU. “Having heard his entertaining and high-quality presentation previously, I know students and professionals will benefit from and enjoy hearing him."
Whitehead will use non-technical language, graphic images, and real life examples to explain the basics of lighting technology and techniques. He has appeared on The Discovery Channel and Home and Garden TV as a guest expert and is the author of "The Lighting Design Sourcebook, 600 Solutions for Residential and Commercial Spaces," which will be available for sale at the event.
