ACU music professor to present Christmas recital Thursday

Eric Wilson

For immediate release
Dec. 8, 2004

Dr. J. Eric Wilson, director of bands at Abilene Christian University, will perform a Christmas recital Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Williams Performing Arts Center recital hall. The performance is free and open to the community.

Wilson will be playing spiritually-based music on saxophone from his recently released recording "Heart of the Holidays."

The recital will include spoken readings and visual images, unique to the traditional music recitals.

Wilson said he wanted to provide an opportunity for the audience to focus on the birth of Jesus during this Christmas season.

"I hope it will be a refreshing and meaningful experience in the midst of a frenzied and often chaotic time of the year," Wilson said.

CD recordings will be available for purchase following the recital. Wilson will also be available for autographs for those interested.
