ACU opera 'Marriage of Figaro' opens this weekend

For immediate release
Nov. 18, 2004

The Abilene Christian University opera theater will present "Marriage of Figaro" this weekend in Cullen Auditorium. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

"Marriage of Figaro" is a romantic comedy by Mozart. The familiar, memorable music and the "I Love Lucy" style of comedy will keep audiences laughing, said Samuel Cook, director of ACU's Opera Studio. The famous opera has been subtitled “The Craziest Day” because of its outlandish comical events.

"Even if you’ve never been to the opera, you’ll enjoy this one," Cook said.

Tickets for the show are $5 for ACU students and $7 for non-students. For more ticket information, call 674-2199.
