For immediate release
November 10, 2004

Abilene Christian University will honor its students who have served or are currently serving in the military with a Veteran's Day reception Thursday in the Living Room of the Campus Center at 1 p.m.

The Jack Pope Fellows Program and the Students' Association are sponsoring the reception, which will feature original artwork by students from Taylor Elementary, Abilene High School and ACU.

Texas state representative Bob Hunter will speak and will express appreciation for the veterans' sacrifice.

Nearly 50 current ACU students, including undergraduate, graduate, traditional and non-traditional students, have served or are serving in the military.

"I hope for a great crowd of people to come here to show our thanks and appreciation to the veterans on campus," said Melanie Booker, SA executive vice president.
