Congressman Randy Neugebauer will visit Abilene Christian University Monday, April 19, and will attend Chapel and meet with students, faculty and staff.
Neugebauer will be a guest of the communication sciences and disorders program and the ACU chapter of Young Republicans. He will be introduced at Chapel in Moody Coliseum at 11 a.m. and afterward will meet faculty and students at reception in the Living Room of the Campus Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Neugebauer is the U.S. Representative for District 19, which will include Abilene after a congressional redistricting decision in October.
"He is very interested in topics and legislation that affect Abilene, ACU, higher education and issues relating to small business, education and the handicapped," said Dr. Jon Ashby, director of the communication sciences and disorders division. "He will be here to meet as many people as possible, share his beliefs and positions on issues, and learn more about our local interests."
Neugebauer will run against local incumbent Charlie Stenholm in November.
