The life of a high school student who planned to attend ACU but died in a car accident last May will be honored at the Rachel Blasingame Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament on Monday, March 15, in Crandall, Texas, at the Creekview Golf Course.
Blasingame, who would have been a freshman at Abilene Christian University this year, was fourth in her class at Mesquite High School and loved art, music and theatre. She is described as “a rare Christian spirit whose entire world revolved around her love for her Lord, her family and her friends.”
Her parents, Guy and Julie Blasingame, who are ACU alumni, are coordinating the tournament in memory of their daughter. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Rachel Blasingame Memorial Scholarship Fund to assist other students in attending ACU.
For more information or to download an entry form, visit the tournament Web site at http://www.valleycreek.net/tournament_info.htm.
Radio station KLTY-FM in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is helping to promote the tournament. Two of their on-air personalities will be playing in the tournament.
