Students at Abilene Christian University are celebrating Black History Month with performances by several on-campus groups.
Essence of Ebony presented its annual Black History Production on Feb. 13 and 14, and a black History Dinner took place Feb. 12.
Two ACU performance groups have several upcoming engagements.
"The Group," a 15-member singing group featuring gospel and contemporary music, will commemorate Black History Month with the following performances:
Abilene Public Library, Wednesday, Feb.18 at noon
Hardin-Simmons University, Thursday, Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m.
Civic Plaza Hotel downtown, Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m.
Dyess Air Force Base (as a part of their Black History Gospel Music Festival) Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
ACU’s Teague Special Events Center as part of Lectureship Feb. 23 at 4 p.m.
Abilene State School Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
In addition, ACU’s Shades Step Squad has scheduled the following performances:
