Many college students are familiar with the struggle to balance class work and dating relationships. In response to this problem, the Spiritual Life office at Abilene Christian University and the ACU Counseling Center have teamed up to bring Healthy Relationships Week to the ACU campus Feb. 2-6.
This year’s Healthy Relationships Week will explore ways to have Christ-like relationships in a world of extremes.
"We’re seeking to invite students to think seriously and spiritually about all of their relationships, beginning with their relationship with God, but also their relationships with their family and their peers," said Mark Lewis, director of Spiritual Life & Student Ministries.
This is the third annual Healthy Relationships Week, and will include various events targeted to every type of student.
"We hope to provide biblical truth that will challenge, encourage and enhance the relationships of every student, whether they are single, dating, engaged or married," Lewis said.
The week’s activities include:
Monday
·Robert Oglesby, instructor of Bible, ministry and missions, will speak in chapel on "The Wisdom of Sexual Purity."
·He will also moderate a chapel forum from 7-8:30 p.m. in Hart Auditorium on "Radical Purity in a Radically Impure World." The forum will include a panel of three faculty members and three students.
