ACU chapter of physics society selected as outstanding chapter

For immediate release
Dec. 30, 2003

The Abilene Christian University chapter of the Society of Physics Students has been selected as an Outstanding Chapter for the 2002-03 school year.

This honor is given to less than 10 percent of the SPS chapters nationwide.

Selection for the award is based on the depth and breadth of SPS activities conducted by the chapter in areas such as physics research, public science outreach, physics tutoring programs, hosting and representation at physics meetings, and providing social interaction for chapter members.

Dr. Donald Isenhower, professor of physics and chair of the department of physics, serves as faculty sponsor for the chapter.
