For immediate release
Nov. 18, 2003
For the third year in a row, students at Abilene Christian University are planning to help families in need during Thanksgiving by collecting money to buy food for Thanksgiving dinners.
ACU's Service Action Leadership Team plans to collect $2,000 to feed fifty families in the neighborhood that have been identified through Taylor Elementary School. Each meal will cost $40 and will feed a family of four to six people.
SALT is counting on the ACU and Abilene community's support to reach their goal. Many University 100 classes at ACU have pledged support, but SALT still needs more funds.
Donations must be turned in to ACU's Volunteer and Service-Learning Center by Friday, Nov. 21. For more information, contact the center at 325-674-2932.
