Alumni, friends and prospective students of Abilene Christian University will gather in Amarillo, Dallas and the Spring/Woodlands area this weekend for connections, recruiting and a healthy dose of ACU spirit.
Purple and White parties, which take place in various cities across Texas and in other states, help recruit students, reconnect alumni, and send-off ACU students going back to school, said Jama Cadle, alumni events coordinator. All alumni, prospective students, ACU students, and ACU friends who are in the area are invited to attend.
"They provide a great opportunity for alumni to get involved, take an active role in recruiting and enjoy reconnecting," Cadle said. "They also provide great visibility for ACU. We are hoping that these will increase enrollment and alumni involvement."
In Amarillo, a Purple and White Party will take place at Amarillo Central Church of Christ, located at 1401 S. Monroe in Amarillo, on Saturday, Nov. 15 at noon. The party is hosted by Dr. Russell and Cathy Burns and Ove ('77) and April ('77) Johannsson
In the Spring/Woodlands area, Guy ('80) and Holly ('80) Lewis will host a Purple and White Party at their home, 18506 Spring Creek Oaks Dr., in Spring, on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 4:30 p.m.
