ACU pre-game party for first home football game to feature Mrs. Baird's 'Ultimate Smoker and Grill'For immediate release, Abilene Christian University's Alumni Association will conduct a pre-game "Purple and White" tailgate party at Shotwell Stadium prior to ACU's first home football game of the season Saturday. The party starts at noon, and the game starts at 2 p.m. The party will feature Mrs. Baird's "Ultimate Smoker and Grill" with free hamburgers, hot dogs and all the trimmings for all ACU alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff. Mrs. Baird's trucks the Ultimate Smoker and Grill across Texas for special events. It is 55 feet long and can cook approximately 200 pieces of meat at one time. To help ACU kick off its 2003 football season, Mrs. Baird's is donating their services and all of the food for the party. "This party will be a great way to kick off the 2003 football season and get the ACU family and friends out for a free meal and lots of fun prior to the game," said Amber Peck, director of alumni relations. While the party and meal before the game are free, regular admission rates apply at the gate for the game. "We hope everyone shows up at noon in purple for a free meal and lots of fun, then stays for a great football game with the ACU Wildcats," Peck said. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are a member of the media who would like more information about this release, please contact Wendy Kilmer, media relations coordinator. |
