Artist Rolando Diaz pairs with pianist for art showFor immediate release Dallas, TX - Well-known artist Rolando Diaz, a 1979 graduate of Abilene Christian University, and pianist/composer Seth Simmons have merged their fine arts talents in a unique show called "Euforia." "Euforia" runs July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2, 9, 16, in Dallas, combining painting with music in an intimate setting specially designed to create warmth and feeling, said Francesca Patrizi, promotion assistant for the show. While Simmons performs his original music, Diaz paints an oil on canvas, which is then auctioned after the performance. Born in Havana, Cuba, Diaz has been painting since childhood. He has exhibited in private homes, museums and galleries throughout the country. His work has been purchased by Carlson International, Liza Minella and Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20. Diaz is often recognized for his philanthropic efforts, including travel to economically distressed cities, both in the U.S. and abroad, and fund raising for the poor through his artwork. Inspired by his mother's love for music, Simmons began piano training at the age of seven in the Philippines. The son of an Air Force Chaplain, Seth has lived, trained and performed internationally. "Euforia" is a display of his original compositions. When composing, Seth hears melodies and sees pictures of the pieces he is writing. He attributes his inspiration to his Heavenly Father. Audiences have often compared his works to those of Yanni, George Winston and Jim Brickman.
