The third annual Older Adult Ministry Conference will feature presentations and discussion July 21-23 about ministry to older adults, led by church leaders who have developed successful programs.
"The goal is to help integrate older adult ministries into the church setting," said. Dr. C.D. Pruett, director of the Pruett Gerontology Center. "The conference will be highlighted by a group of outstanding speakers, assembled for their expertise and commitment to older adult ministries. We designed this program for men and women currently involved in ministries or about to embark upon a new ministry journey"
Featured presenters include Steve Doss, Oak Hills Church of Christ in San Antonio; Buck Griffith, Windsor Park Church of Christ in Corpus Christi; Dr. Jim Hughes, Skillman Church of Christ in Dallas; Dr. Jim Jackson, Granny White Pike Church of Christ in Nashville, Tenn.; Kay McGlothlin, Hillcrest Church of Christ in Abilene; Doug Page, Huntsville Church of Christ; Bob Payne, Huntsville Church of Christ; Jess Peterson, Atria Assisted Living Village in Lubbock; Pruett; Wyatt Sawyer, Southside Church of Christ in Fort Worth; Dr. Eddie Sharp, University Church of Christ in Abilene; Charles Thacker, Webb Chapel Church of Christ in Dallas; and Dr. J.J. Turner, the Bear Valley Bible Institute in Denver, Colo.
Registration is $75, and the registration deadline is July 14. Housing is available at the Whitten Inn, near ACU, at a discounted rate.
