Just weeks after a first place finish in one debate tournament, Abilene Christian University junior Ben Stevens placed second in yet another national tournament.
Stevens, a theatre major from Colleyville, competed recently in the National Forensics Association Tournament in Muncie, Ind. The debate tournament was comprised of 26 schools including New York University, Northwestern University and Florida State University.
Winning five of six preliminary debates, Ben made it to the final round in Lincoln-Douglas debate, losing only to a student from Missouri Southern University, placing him as the second best debater in the nation.
In March, Stevens competed in the 2003 National Christian College Forensics Invitational at Point Loma University, winning first place in the Lincoln-Douglas debate.
