Business advisor visits COBA to help prep for accreditationFor immediate release Dr. Kjell Knudsen, dean of the University of Minnesota Duluth School of Business and Economics, will be visiting Abilene Christian University's College of Business Administration Wednesday to help prepare for the next step towards accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premiere accreditation for business schools worldwide. Knudsen is a member of the AACSB site visit team that will conduct a site visit at ACU in October as part of the evaluation for accreditation. This time, however, Knudsen is serving as in the role of advisor to help COBA prepare for the October site visit and to help improve the self evaluation report, said Dr. Rick Lytle, dean of ACU's College of Business Administration. He will visit with several areas in the college and talk with faculty, students, and administration while on campus. "His visit is timely and significant because his input is helping us better position ourselves for our fall visit with AASCB International," Lytle said. AACSB International was founded in 1916. Accreditation is a process of voluntary, non-governmental review of educational institutions and programs. As a specialized agency, AACSB International grants accreditation for undergraduate and graduate business administration and accounting programs. Institutional accreditation reviews entire colleges and universities. More than 400 AACSB International member institutions have received accreditation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are a member of the media who would like more information about this release, please contact Wendy Kilmer, university news coordinator. |
