Pianist Ronald Rathbun scheduled to perform in ACU recital series

Pianist Ronald Rathbun is scheduled to perform next week in the new Williams Performing Arts Center recital hall as part of the on-going recital series at Abilene Christian University.

Rathbun will perform Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the recital hall of the Williams Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.

Rathbun's program will include the music of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy. He will play on ACU's new Hamburg Steinway grand piano. His credits include piano recitals, workshops and master classes across the U.S. and Asia, including performances at the China Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and a performance with the Taegu Philharmonic Orchestra in Taegu, Korea. Locally, Rathbun has played with the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra and was professor of piano and director of the piano division at ACU for 28 years. He has also held teaching positions in West Virginia, Iowa and Missouri. He is listed in publications such as "Who's Who in the World," "Outstanding People of the 20th Century" and "Dictionary of International Biography."
