At Abilene Christian University the week of Jan. 27-31 is Healthy Relationships Week, featuring activities, speakers and Chapel sessions devoted to forming and maintaining healthy relationships.
Events for the week include:
Wednesday, Jan. 29
Thursday, Jan. 30
11 a,m. Moody Coliseum - Carrie Hale, senior psychology major from Weatherford, will give a student response during Chapel.
11 a.m. Biblical Studies Building Room 127 - small-group Chapel on "Helping Friends Who Struggle with Same-Sex Attraction," taught by Mike Cope, minister at Highland Church of Christ.
11 a.m. Biblical Studies Building Room 120 - small-group Chapel on "Sexual Purity for Dummies," taught by Dr. Steve Wages, assistant professor of family and consumer sciences
11 a.m. Biblical Studies Building Room 112 - small-group Chapel on "Getting Untangled from the Net: Help with Internet Struggles," taught by Steve Rowlands, director of the counseling center.
7 p.m. Hilton Room in the McGlothlin Campus Center - "Married While in School; Commitment, Romance & Textbooks" taught by Wages and Rowlands
Friday, Jan. 31
11:45 a.m. Hilton Room fof the McGlothlin Campus Center - brown bag lunch on "Relationships with Co-workers: Christians in the Workplace" with actress Julianne Morris and ACU alumnus Grant Boone, broadcaster for the Golf Channel
8 p.m. Living Room of the McGlothlin Campus Center - a visit with Juilanne Morris for singles, hosted by Eddie Sharp, minister at University Church of Christ
8 p.m. Hilton Room of the McGlothlin Campus Center - "Dessert and a Movie" featuring the movie "Kate and Leopold" with commentary by Dr. John Willis, professor of biblical studies, and his wife, Evelyn Willis.
Healthy Relationships Week is sponsored by ACU's spiritual life office and the ACU counseling center.
