Dynegy vice president and Abilene Christian University graduate Glenn Labhart will speak to College of Business Administration students Oct. 11 on "Leadership in times of crisis."

Labhart will address students in an international business class Friday at 10 a.m. in Room 115 of the College of Business Administration building on ACU's campus and will speak with selected students at a mentoring session in the afternoon.

Labhart serves as vice president and chief risk officer for Dynegy Inc. in Houston, where he is responsible for corporate risk oversight of a $42 billion revenue stream of enterprise risk including commodity trading, power generation, crude oil, and natural gas liquids assets.

Prior to joining Dynegy, Labhart was vice president of Neste Trading, a division of Neste Oy, the national oil company of Finland, and was involved in business and trading activities in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Labhart's risk control experience has also included positions with two other Houston-based energy companies.  He served as Tenneco Energy's trading control officer and as El Paso Energy's director of risk management.

In February 2002, Labhart received the Financial Risk Manager of the Year award from the Global Association of Risk Professionals. His professional affiliations include memberships in the Energy Risk Management Association, Risk Control Roundtable of Houston and board member for GARP and ACU’s College of Business Administration Advisory Council.

Labhart received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and marketing from Abilene Christian University and is a graduate of the Rice University Executive Management Program.
