Abilene Christian University honored development program volunteers Saturday night at the annual development information session and the first-ever development volunteer appreciation dinner. In addition, two volunteers were presented with newly created awards.
More than 40 volunteers from across the nation gathered in Abilene Saturday for the dinner, including volunteers in the areas of class agents, annual fund co-chairs, reunion campaign volunteers, faculty/staff volunteers, and the Board of Trustees development committee. The event included an informational session, dinner and a performance of "Broadway Bound" by the Department of Theatre.
Jeffrey Knight ('77), of Bentonville, Ark., was awarded the Don H. Morris Servant Leadership Award, presented for exemplary service and leadership as a volunteer through encouragement and motivation of peers, financial and prayerful service to ACU, and a proven spirit of servanthood.
Jordan Maples ('97) of Dallas was presented the Don H. Morris Mission Award for total commitment to the ACU mission, challenging fellow alumni to actively support ACU's mission, supporting ACU faithfully, financially and prayerfully, and enhancing the relationship between ACU and its alumni.
In addition, the informational session included updates on various ACU topics including admissions, athletics, the First Year Program, networking for ACU and the upcoming Centennial Campaign.
