ACU community participates in Salvation Army "Adopt an
Angel"
For Immediate Release
Nov. 23, 1999
Abilene Christian University faculty and students have an
opportunity to make Christmas wishes come true for 500
children by adopting an angel through the Salvation
Army.
Agencies refer children to the Salvation Army from
underprivileged or low-income families where Christmas cheer
might be sparse. Adopting an angel means buying a present
and wrapping it for the child of choice with the information
provided. Presents collected will be delivered to the
children's homes.
There is an angel wall in ACU's McGlothlin Campus Center.
For every angel adopted, an angel is affixed to the
wall.
The ACU Students' Association has been conducting "Adopt
an Angel" since Monday, Nov. 15. So far 300 children have
been adopted. The Students' Association goal is to have 500
angels adopted by Nov. 30.
