Dr. Fred Bailey to speak on Veterans Appreciation

Dr. Fred Bailey, chair of the Department of History, will
speak in Abilene Christian University's Chapel assembly Nov.
11 for Veterans Day.
Bailey's speech, "Peace is Better" will focus on
appreciation for the young men who sacrificed their lives so
Americans could have their freedom.
"We're here because some people were willing to do what
was necessary to pay the cost for our freedom," Bailey said.
"We have the privilege to be where we are today because
young people were willing to suffer."
Bailey, who is very passionate about Veterans Day, has
been at ACU since 1984 and has a BA from Harding University
and the MA and Ph.D from the University of Tennessee. He has
written extensively on subjects relating to American
intellectual history with an emphasis on the American
South.
Chapel is conducted at 11 a.m. in Moody Coliseum on the
ACU campus
