Pianist Charles Rix to come to ACU

Pianist Charles Rix will give a piano recital on Nov. 2,
1999 in Cullen Auditorium at 8 p.m. He also will talk about
faith and music on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. in the Roxie
Neal Recital Hall in the Burford Music Center on the Abilene
Christian University campus. Admission is free.
Rix is a 1978 graduate of ACU. He has played with the
Houston Symphony, given concerts at major conservatories and
colleges of music throughout Russia and performed on Russian
television and radio.
Currently, Rix teaches piano in New Jersey and continues
to perform recitals for the benefit of universities,
charitable and Christian based organizations.
He is also active in the development of music education
materials for home-schooling families and teaches classes on
music education in the home at the New Jersey Home-school
Conventions. Most recently, he completed a series of
concerts to benefit IMPACT Youth Development Ministries in
Houston, an organization which ministers to inner city
youth.
