ACU is a first choice on Governor's web site For Immediate Release Oct. 27, 1999 Abilene Christian University is now listed as a "First Choice in Texas Universities" on the Governor's Office web site. The "Texas Universities" link is a new feature on the web site that informs users about Texas higher education opportunities through a brief overview page, a photo and a link to the university's home page. The web page, http://www.governor.state.tx.us/Texas/Universities/acu.html, also lists 20 of the top Texas universities, both public and private, including Texas Christian University, Trinity University in San Antonio and Texas A&M University. According to the governor's office, Gov. Bush's state web site receives numerous hits each month from Texan and non-Texans alike.
