ACU faculty impact agriculture industry on the national
level

- Dr. Ed Brokaw, associate professor of agriculture and
environment, will be attending the Agriculture Consortium
of Texas (ACT) meeting at Kilgore College on Sept. 23-24
and also will be attending the National Association of
Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Executive
Committee fall meeting in Kansas City, October 2-3.
Brokaw holds executive office in both associations.
- Dr. Glenn Davis, chair of the department of
agriculture and environment, will attend the annual
national meeting of the American Society of Agronomy
(ASA) held in Salt Lake City, Utah, Oct. 31-Nov. 4.
Several students from ACU's agriculture department will
participate in the Region IV ASA Soils Contest on Nov. 20
at West Texas A&M, Canyon.
- Dr. Foy Mills, associate professor of agribusiness
and a national advisor, and Michelle Baldwin, ACU junior
agribusiness major from Thornton and national
parliamentarian for Delta Tau Alpha Agricultural Honor
Society, will attend the National Executive Officers
mid-year meeting in Oklahoma City on October 2-3.
- ACU's Southwest Peanut Flavor Lab will begin its
eighth year of operation. The flavor lab conducts
analysis to enhance peanut quality and safety as a food
product. The lab is supervised by Mills and employs four
to five student workers each fall. Mills will be
attending a peanut flavor spectrum workshop in Albany,
Ga., later this month.
