ACU hires new physician
For Immediate Release
September 3, 1999
Abilene Christian University has hired Tony Rector, D.O.,
as an on-campus physician for health services. Prior to this
year, health services has included a small staff of
nurses.
As the medical director of health services, Rector will
provide acute care for students, creating a true health
clinic. Students, faculty and staff schedule appointments
for infections, pains and lacerations.
The community surrounding Rector is what brought him to
ACU. "I was drawn to the opportunity to serve in a Christian
environment," Rector said. "It is my prayer and hope that in
time we will be able to realize a healthy growth in the
scope of medical services available to all of the ACU
family."
Rector and his wife, Dana, have three children: Calli,
Aaron and Brady. Calli is a freshman at ACU.
Health services is located on the east side of McKinzie
Hall.
