Native American flutist to perform at ACU

August 24, 1999
On Sept. 3, The ACU Honors program will sponsor a free
concert by Native American Tom Mauchahty-Ware at 5 p.m. at
the Hard Wood Cafe on the ACU campus.
Ware, who is Kiowa and Comanche, has recorded 28 albums,
lectured at Yale and other universities, performed at arts
and blues festivals from Florida to Califormia and toured
with Michael Martin Murphy.
He recorded the soundtrack for the ABC TV miniseries
"Son of the Morning Star" and performed original pieces at
the Atlanta Summer Olympics and at the memorial service for
victims of the Oklahoma City bombing.
The public is welcome and should bring lawn chairs and
blankets. The ACU Honors program will provide cold
drinks.
