workshops
For immediate release
July 5, 1999
This summer, church leaders and teachers will convene at
ACU during the week of July 25-28 for three summer
workshops: the 45th annual Bible Teachers Workshop, the
19th annual Elders and Church Leaders Workshop and the 9th
annual Equipping Women for Ministry Workshop.
The summer workshops are designed to equip Christians for
greater service in their local churches, said Dr. Carl
Brecheen, director of the summer workshops and professor of
Bible.
Speakers from various churches around the U.S. will speak
at classes, while morning and evening devotionals round out
the day.
Classes for the workshops will cover topics such as
telling stories to children, integrating the classroom and
devotional subjects for teens, serving through acts of
kindness, youth ministry in the 21st century, how divorce
affects children, using computers to organize church
libraries, the calling of angels and AIDS ministries.
A feature for women in the Equipping Women for Ministry
Workshop will be the special "Honoring Sisters of Service"
luncheon on Tuesday, July 27 to honor several women who have
spent years in godly service and exemplary discipleship.
This year approximately 2,000 participants are expected
at the workshops.
Programs are offered for youth who are interested in
teaching and child care is provided for children 2 to 9
years at $4 per session. The workshop registration fee is
$15 per person.
