Joe Cope of the ACU Foundation earns CFP mark

Joe L. Cope, J.D., CFP, Executive Director of The ACU
Foundation at Abilene Christian University, has received a
license from the Certified Financial Planner Board of
Standards (CFP Board) which authorizes him to use the CFP
mark.
In order to be licensed by the CFP board, Cope completed
financial planning course work and passed a certification
examination over the following areas: the financial planning
process, risk management, investments, tax planning and
management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate
planning. CFP licensees must also agree to meet ongoing
continuing education requirements and to uphold the CFP
Board Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
Cope has worked at The ACU Foundation since June 1998
using his experience in fund raising and public relations to
help the Foundation achieve its goal of supporting ACU in
every possible aspect. While at ACU, Cope also has served as
assistant vice president for development operations, vice
president for university advancement and executive assistant
to the President at ACU.
Cope also has been active in the Abilene Community as a
board member of the Red Cross and a leader at Highland
Church of Christ.
