ACU speaker to explore Christian attitudes towards
hunger

April 16, 1999
Ron Sider, a professor at the Eastern Baptist Theological
Seminary and president of Evangelicals for Social Action,
will speak at Abilene Christian University Thursday, April
22, in the Chapel on the Hill in the College of Biblical
Studies at 7 p.m.
Sider's topic will be "Do Evangelicals Care What the
Bible Says About the Poor?" He will speak again at 9 a.m.
Friday, April 23, in Hart Auditorium in the College of
Biblical Studies about "Poverty in America: Since Everything
Else Has Failed, Why Not Try a Holistic Biblical
Approach?"
Both presentations are open to the public.
Sider has authored 22 books, including "Rich Christians
in an Age of Hunger." His visit is sponsored by these ACU
departments: political science, sociology, biology,
journalism and the College of Biblical Studies.
