Students organize prayer vigil for ACU staff

For immediate release
March 25, 1999

Abilene Christian University senior Sandy Jameson is one of four students organizing an amazing event March 29-April 2 - a prayer vigil for the ACU campus.

The students are working with Mark Lewis, coordinator of spiritual development and campus ministries, and this special program involves every office and department on the ACU campus. The students are organizing "prayer squads" to go and pray for each department. Each squad will consist of three to four upperclassmen.

In a letter to the ACU staff, Jameson wrote, "We know what you do every day is so important and vital to the university. Therefore, we want to give you praise and encouragement by praying for you and the many tasks and people you work with every day."

The students are planning times when they can come visit each department on campus and pray during the week of March 29-April 2. Each prayer session is envisioned to last 15 to 30 minutes. For more information about this prayer vigil for the ACU staff, contact Jameson via e-mail at or by phone at 676-1510.
