For immediate release
Oct. 16, 2001
In an effort to "Paint the Town Purple" for ACU's homecoming this year, all buildings on the ACU campus are being asked to participate in a campus decorating contest.
All campus buildings that put up decorations to promote school spirit will be judged by members of the Alumni Relations staff and Homecoming Steering Committee in one of three categories: men's residence hall, women's residence hall and academic building. The winners will receive the Homecoming Spirit Award, and their name will be engraved on a plaque in the Campus Center.
"In the alumni office, we want to help promote our colors and our mascot. We think this purple push, helps generate excitement about Homecoming and ACU," said Betsey Craig, coordinator of alumni communications.
Last year was the first year for the contest, and the winners included Mabee Hall, Gardner Hall and Zona Luce.
This year's winners will be announced in Chapel on Friday.
