
ACU students to participate in Service SaturdayFor immediate release Oct. 11, 2001 ACU students will scatter across town this weekend to serve God and the Abilene community. Oct. 13 is Service Saturday, a day for students to participate in various service projects ranging from manual labor to visiting with the elderly. Service Saturday is sponsored by S.A.L.T., ACU's Service Action Leadership Team, which plans all service activities involving ACU students. "Service Saturday is an opportunity for students to gather together and meet people while serving the community," said Kristy Perdue, S.A.L.T. member. "We are excited to see how God will use Service Saturday to further His kingdom." The activities planned for this Saturday include:
Anyone interested in participating can sign up in the Campus Center ticket windows from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, or visit the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center.
