For immediate release
Oct. 4, 2001
TIckets are on sale now for a concert featuring Chonda Pierce on Oct. 8 on Abilene Christian University's campus.
Pierce, whose comedy show sold out last year in Abilene, will perform at 7 p.m Oct. 9 in Moody Coliseum.
Pierce grew up the daughter of a preacher in South Carolina and Tennessee, and began performing standup comedy and telling stories of religious faith about 10 years ago. Her experiences involving her husband and two children make up a large part of her act.
Pierce cites clean comics such as Bill Cosby, Carol Burnett and Minnie Pearl as influences.
Advance tickets are $18, or $16 each for groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased at Bible Book Store, Abilene Educational Supply, Good News Christian Bookstore, and Family Christian Stores, or by calling (800) 965-9324 (group orders should be placed by telephone). Tickets at the door cost $20.
