Randy Truxal has been elected to serve as president of the Abilene Christian University Alumni Advisory Board.
Truxal, who is vice president of development for Texoma Healthcare System in Denison, graduated from ACU in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
As president of the ACU Alumni Advisory Board, he provides a leadership voice and active link between the university and ACU's 83,000 living alumni. The board also works to help ACU accomplish its mission to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.
Truxal's one-year term as president began in August, but Truxal has been a member of the advisory board since 1992. He served as secretary in 1999 and president-elect in 2000.
"Randy's been a part of the alumni team for a long time, and his passion and enthusiasm for ACU, along with his leadership skills, make him a great choice for this role," said Mark Meador, director of ACU Alumni Relations.
A deacon at Park Avenue Church of Christ in Denison, Truxal is married to Cindy, also a 1981 graduate of ACU. They have two sons, Luke, 15, and Matt, 13.
"Attending ACU was one of the highlights of my life," Truxal said. "I met my wife and made some of my best friends there. This is one way I can give a little back to the university that means so much to me."
