Christian Higher Education Foundation to conduct development workshop at ACU

The Christian Higher Education Foundation will conduct its fifth development workshop at Abilene Christian University Aug. 5-7.

Topics to be covered include:

• Lessons learned from fund-raising campaigns,
• Fund-raising through special events versus ongoing solicitation,
• Donor relations,
• Direct mail,
• Cultivating corporate and foundation gifts and
• Tax laws and planned giving.

The Christian Higher Education Foundation consists of representatives from these Church of Christ-affiliated schools:

• Abilene Christian University in Abilene,
• Harding University in Searcy, Ark.,
• Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn.,
• Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Okla., and
• Rochester College in Rochester, Mich.

Several Christian Higher Education Foundation board members will present at the conference, including John Tyson, vice president for development at ACU; Clifton L. Ganus Jr., chancellor at Harding; John C. Stevens, chancellor emeritus at ACU; Terry Johnson, former president of OCU; and Harold Hazelip, chancellor of Lipscomb.
